BIOGRAPHY
JESSICA L. BERRIEN
In 2006, Attorney Berrien founded
Jessica L. Berrien Attorney at Law, LLC in Northampton, MA, moving to Easthampton, MA, in 2018. Attorney Berrien represents clients in family law cases, practicing primarily in the western MA divisions of the Probate & Family Court. She appears in Court regularly on motions for temporary orders, motions for support/custody and on contempt hearings.
Attorney Jessica L. Berrien is a trained Mediator and has learned from over 20 years of litigation experience that it is often better for parties to come to an amicable, negotiated agreement instead of going to court and they can then be the architects of their own futures.
Education
Attorney Berrien is a graduate of Tufts University and Suffolk Law School, graduating magna cum laude. She was a note editor of the Suffolk Transnational Law Review and author of "Intercountry Adoption Laws" Suffolk Transnational Law Review No. 20 P. 283 (1998).
Attorney Berrien worked as a law
clerk to the Justices of the MA Superior Court; at a Boston firm in the litigation group; at a Boston area firm in family law; and at an Amherst, Massachusetts firm in family law, civil litigation and real estate.

OUR APPROACH
Helping Families
Negotiate Change
At Jessica L. Berrien, Attorney at Law, LLC, we care greatly about each client's unique family situation and we will work with you to help you negotiate change. We will also advocate fiercely for you when necessary.
You will be given individualized
attention and can feel confident that your needs will be taken care of, whether it means attending Court and Litigating, Mediating, or Negotiating outside of Court, we
will work toward a final resolution that you can live with.
Attorney Jessica L. Berrien has been practicing family law for 20 plus years and has been practicing in Western Massachusetts for 17 plus years. She has longstanding relationships with many attorneys in the area and works regularly at the local Courts.
She has recently become a "convert" to the Mediation process and has become a trained Mediator. She hopes to help parties settle cases through Mediation whenever possible, working as a neutral, not representing either party, but facilitating communication and settlement.
She also still has a very active litigation practice where she represents only one party in a case through litigation and/or settlement.
